Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center puts the fun in fungi at their Wild Mushroom Festival, sure to delight foragers and food enthusiasts alike. Enjoy lectures by local experts on foraging and cooking mushrooms, identification walks and sampling the flavors of the forest in dishes from some of the area’s best eateries. Don’t miss festival favorites like candy cap mushroom ice cream, mushroom beer and live music.
Connecticut Valley Mycological Society (CVMS) will lead mushroom identification walks, answer questions and display locally foraged mushrooms. Free lectures run throughout the afternoon by The 3 Foragers, local experts on foraging and cooking wild mushrooms. Live music performed by The Root Farmers.
Tickets are $20 per adult (includes 10 food tickets) and $10 per child (ages 3-12; includes 5 food tickets). Ages 2 and under are free. Additional food tickets available for $1 each.
Use of strollers are discouraged at this outdoor festival. Parking is free in the Denison fields across Pequotsepos Road. Please note the Nature Center will be closed to the public Sunday morning for setup.
